Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. The Mehndi ceremony is held before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health, happiness, and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage. The Mehndi ceremony brings together many close female friends and family, who may also apply henna to their hands. While Mehndi is mainly for females, male relatives are invited to join in on the party after the Bride has completed her henna. The core significance of applying henna is to utilize its natural medicinal herbal remedies, cooling the body and relieving the Bride of any stress before her big day.

Baraat

Niraj's Baraat will start at 10:00 AM. We encourage guests on the bride's side to attend as well.

A Baraat is a celebratory wedding procession, or the arrival of the groom, is marked by fanfare, music, and dancing. While it does not hold religious significance, it is an important custom in Indian tradition. It takes place before the traditional vow exchange. The groom arrives with his family and friends: The Baraat. They are welcomed by the bride’s family at the entrance of the wedding venue, where the groom’s family and the bride’s family meet. The bride’s mother applies a tilak (ceremonial red dot) on the groom's forehead and performs an aarti to ward off any evil.
